7 very quick takes
- Good morning! It's going to be a quick one because we have a full house and I want to enjoy that, rather than sitting at my laptop.
- It's a full house because a Dutch family whom we met via Instagram (@boonfamilyjourney) has been staying with us for almost two weeks now. The family is travelling through Africa in their Landrover Defender and two rooftop tents (how cool!). They have three children and the girls are loving their new friends. The kids are playing almost non-stop together and move as a small army of five over the compound.
- Last week we took the boon Family to one of our favourite places in the world; Likoma Island. Andrew, our friend who has been living on the island since forever, has created one of the most creative and inspiring places that I know, and it always feels like such a privilege to be able to go there. The main building is made almost entirely out of redundant old wooden boats, and it's just beautiful. The pictures don't really do it justice, but you get an idea.
- Today is a big day with cake, presents and a treasure hunt because Anna, the eldest daughter is turning ten. You can imagine that Sophie, the queen of birthday parties, is in her element. Giving her party to prepare for is possibly the best gift you can give her.
- Sophie has learned to SUP and loves it. Scroll down for a video.
- Winter has come without warning and it is cold! I know it's not 'Europe-Cold' but definitely cold enough to wear 'long clothes' and to use all the blankets we can find.
- Time to go. Anna wants a donut cake, but that's not something you can find here, so I'll have to bake. See you next week!
